3-DAY MARRAKECH TO FEZ DESERT TOUR

Day 1: Marrakech to Skoura via Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate

Start your Moroccan adventure bright and early, departing from the vibrant city of Marrakech at 7:00 AM. Drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka pass. Along the way, you’ll have several opportunities to stop and capture the breathtaking mountain vistas.

Arrive at the famous village of Ait Benhaddou around 10:00 AM, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its striking earthen buildings and as a backdrop for many films. Spend some time exploring Ait Benhaddou, walking through its narrow, winding streets, and admiring the panoramic views from the top of the kasbah. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, sampling authentic Moroccan cuisine, around 12:00 PM.

After lunch, head towards Ouarzazate, arriving around 2:00 PM. Visit the renowned cinematographic studios where many Hollywood blockbusters and famous TV series have been filmed, offering a fascinating glimpse into the world of movie-making in Morocco. Continue your journey to the well-preserved Kasbah Amridil, arriving around 3:30 PM. This historical site provides a deep dive into traditional Moroccan architecture and lifestyle.

By 5:00 PM, you’ll reach Skoura, a lush oasis town. Check into your hotel and take some time to relax and refresh. In the evening, embark on a walking tour of the Skoura palm grove, the largest in Morocco. This tranquil walk will take you through a maze of palm trees, offering insights into local agriculture and traditional life. Enjoy a delicious dinner at your hotel or a nearby restaurant, then retire for the night in Skoura.

Day 2: Skoura to Merzouga via Dades Valley and Todra Gorges

After a delightful breakfast at your hotel, set off from Skoura at 9:00 AM towards the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its impressive rock formations and verdant landscapes. Arrive in Tinerhir around 11:30 AM, where you’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant.

Continue your journey to the Todra Gorges, arriving around 1:00 PM. This dramatic canyon features towering cliffs and offers opportunities for a short walk to marvel at the stunning rock formations and take some memorable photos. By 3:00 PM, continue towards Erfoud, passing through the picturesque Ziz Valley, renowned for its extensive palm groves and ancient fortified villages.

Arrive in Erfoud around 5:30 PM, where you’ll switch to a 4WD jeep for the exciting desert journey to the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. As you head into the vast sea of sand, the landscape transforms dramatically. By 7:00 PM, you’ll reach your desert camp, where a warm welcome awaits. Enjoy a delicious traditional dinner under the stars, surrounded by the serene beauty of the desert, and spend the night in this magical setting.

Day 3: Merzouga to Fez via Midelt and Ifrane

Rise early at 5:30 AM to witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over the dunes, a truly unforgettable experience. After the sunrise, embark on a camel ride across the rolling sands, and for the adventurous, try your hand at sandboarding down the dunes. By 8:00 AM, return to the camp for a hearty breakfast, soaking in the last moments of desert tranquility.

Around 9:00 AM, you’ll ride back to Merzouga by camel or 4WD, where you’ll reunite with your driver and begin the journey towards Fez. Pass through the picturesque Ziz Valley again, reaching Midelt around 1:00 PM for a traditional Moroccan lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, continue driving through lush cedar forests, where you might spot the playful Barbary macaques. Arrive in Ifrane around 4:30 PM, a town often referred to as “Little Switzerland” due to its European-style architecture and immaculate streets. Take a short break here to stretch your legs and enjoy the unique ambiance.

By 6:00 PM, continue your journey through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, arriving in the historic city of Fez around 7:30 PM. This marks the end of your unforgettable Moroccan adventure, filled with rich experiences and memories to cherish. Safe Travels!
