This was a fantastic trip for two mature singles in their Seventies. Two luxurious tents awaited us after a days journey through the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco and an overnight stay in a Riad. The second day took us to a desert rendezvous with our camel 1 hours journey to our camp in the dunes. Brilliant for every part of the journey. Food, places, experiences and a sure and interesting drive from our driver, Laarbi .
We spent a comfortable night in our luxury tents, with full facilities of a flush domestic style toilet, a shower and washbasin including hot water….in the desert dunes.
Our evening meal in the restaurant and then breakfast in the sunshine on individual patios were very good.
The welcome and service was excellent and we were sad to leave. I took the 4×4 back to a village meeting place, my travelling companion took a camel. Now, camels are dromedary’s, they have one hump! They are wide. I am not, so I’m afraid that I took the hump!!!
Our return journey in a comfortable VW Transporter for two of us plus an overnight stay in a Riad was equally a good journay with visits en route to places of interest and we arrived back in Marrakesh by Dinnertime.
This 4 day, 3 night trip is excellent, good value for money and a thrilling journey into the Sahara Desert. I recommend it highly. Do it and see!!!
