Fez, Marrakech, Meknes and Rabat are the four imperial cities of the Kingdom of Morocco. Through different historical eras, they were capitals for various ruling dynasties such as Idrisids, Almoravids, Almohads, Wattasids, Marinids, Saadians and Alawites. These architecturally beautiful cities were mainly associated with the kings and sultans who built them. Boasting one engineering marvel after another, their opulence and rich history distinguish them from former capitals, and are not to be missed.
